Special Notice from the OPP re: Aggressive Driving
2014-01-13

FROM/DE: CALEDON

DATE: JANUARY 13, 2014

CONCERNED ABOUT AGGRESSIVE DRIVING IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD?

(CALEDON, ON) – You’re not alone.  The town and street names across Ontario can vary widely but the fears – risks about aggressive drivers are startlingly similar no matter the location. Strict police enforcement can reduce the risks and hold some aggressive drivers responsible but in communities where a ROAD WATCH program has been implemented we can all do a little more. Here are two important steps:

1) Go straight to ROADWATCH.ca and see how the citizen reporting process works; there is an anonymous process for reporting cases of aggressive driving to your police service.

2)  Contact your ROAD WATCH volunteer chairperson and see how you can participate. Your two to three hours per month volunteer commitment will go a long way in creating a safer environment for other drivers and pedestrians who could be injured or killed in a senseless aggressive driving incident.

In the Town of Caledon (birth place of the ROAD WATCH program) go to ROADWATCH.ca or contact Provincial Constable Brenda Evans for more information.

Join a team of local volunteers who work with their police service to reduce aggressive driving.
